Santo Domingo, 5 ago.- República Dominicana registró un déficit comercial cercano a los ocho mil millones de dólares hasta junio, tras superar ampliamente las importaciones a las ventas al exterior, informó hoy la Oficina Nacional de Estadística (ONE).
De acuerdo con el organismo, entre enero y junio de 2026 las compras ascendieron a 15 mil 845.7 millones de dólares, mientras las exportaciones totalizaron siete mil 897.8 millones, para un saldo deficitario de siete mil 947.9 millones.
Las adquisiciones externas crecieron 7,8 por ciento con respecto a igual período de 2025, impulsadas principalmente por los combustibles y sus derivados, en particular los aceites de petróleo, incluidos los crudos.
Por su parte, las exportaciones aumentaron 14,8 por ciento interanual, favorecidas sobre todo por las ventas de oro y tabaco en rama, que aportaron de manera conjunta 828.4 millones de dólares al incremento registrado.
Las compras estuvieron encabezadas por combustibles y derivados del petróleo, automóviles, gas de petróleo, aceites crudos y medicamentos.
Mientras, los despachos al exterior fueron liderados por oro en bruto, instrumentos médicos, cigarros, aparatos para circuitos eléctricos y productos farmacéuticos.
