WASHINGTON.- El presidente de Estados Unidos, Donald Trump, afirmó que su país está «dando duro» a Irán y sigue ganando «sin parar», reportaron periodistas de Fox News, citando al mandatario.
Según el medio, Estados Unidos llevó a cabo la noche pasada una ola de ataques contra infraestructura iraní. De acuerdo con corresponsales de la cadena, los bombardeos se registraron en instalaciones militares del sur de Irán, con objetivos ubicados en la costa del golfo Pérsico y sus cercanías.
El líder estadounidense comentó la ofensiva a Fox News.
«Va bien. Todo lo que puedes hacer es seguir ganando, luego eventualmente algo sucederá. Pero los estamos golpeando duro, dejándolos fuera de combate, y simplemente seguimos ganando. Al final, no tendrán más opción que irse a casa», afirmó el inquilino de la Casa Blanca.
El miércoles, Trump había prometido más agresiones contra Irán. «Les vamos a golpear muy fuerte porque es nuestro turno de golpearlos. Saben que se viene», dijo. Además, amenazó a Irán con «hacerles mierda», después de que la nación persa lanzara una ofensiva contra las tropas estadounidenses.
IRÁN REPORTA OPERACIÓN EN ORMUZ
Por su parte, el Cuerpo de la Guardia Revolucionaria Islámica de Irán (CGRI) informó este viernes que sus fuerzas navales llevaron a cabo durante la madrugada una operación de control en el estrecho de Ormuz, en la que interceptaron varios petroleros que ignoraron las advertencias de las autoridades iraníes.
PLAN DE DOS SEMANAS DE ATAQUES
Según reportes del Wall Street Journal, Estados Unidos habría elaborado un plan de dos semanas de ataques intensivos contra Irán, en un contexto de escalada militar entre ambas naciones que mantiene en alerta al golfo Pérsico y a la comunidad internacional.
