VALVERDE.- Dieciocho productores agrícolas de la región Norte recibieron certificados de bonificación por un monto superior de RD$15,000,000 otorgados por la Dirección Ejecutiva de Tecnificación Nacional de Riego (TNR), a través del Fondo de Fomento a la Tecnificación del Sistema Nacional de Riego (Fotesir).
El director de la TNR, Claudio Caamaño Vélez, destacó que esta iniciativa representa un avance significativo en el proceso de modernización de la agricultura nacional.
«Esta entrega no sólo reconoce de manera formal a los productores beneficiados, sino que constituye un paso decisivo hacia la modernización del riego en la zona, para que sea más rentable, sostenible y competitivo», expresó Caamaño Vélez.
El funcionario señaló que la tecnificación del riego contribuye a optimizar el aprovechamiento del recurso hídrico, incrementar la productividad de los cultivos y fortalecer la capacidad de respuesta del sector agropecuario frente a los desafíos asociados al cambio climático.
Las convocatorias del Fotesir y el programa Bagri-Riego, iniciativa desarrollada en conjunto con el Banco Agrícola (Bagrícola), han permitido reducir a más de la mitad los costos de instalación de los sistemas de riego y agilizar los tiempos de ejecución de los proyectos para los productores beneficiados.
Las bonificaciones otorgadas permitirán a los agricultores incorporar tecnologías avanzadas de riego, optimizar el uso del agua, disminuir los costos de producción y elevar la competitividad de sus explotaciones agrícolas. Contempla, además, asistencia técnica especializada, acompañamiento permanente y procesos de capacitación orientados a garantizar la sostenibilidad de las inversiones realizadas.
Con esta sexta bonificación suman 108 el número de certificados de bonificación no reembolsables concedidos a productores de las provincias San Juan (30), Azua (36), Bahoruco e Independencia (17). Así como Valverde-Santiago Rodríguez, Dajabón-Montecristi (7), para una inversión de más de RD$60 millones destinados al impulso de proyectos de tecnificación del riego en estas demarcaciones.
