Valverde Mao, República Dominicana. – El Ejército de República Dominicana (ERD) informó que, mediante operativos realizados en las provincias Santiago Rodríguez y Valverde, fueron interceptados tres vehículos utilizados para el transporte irregular de nacionales haitianos en condición migratoria irregular.
En una primera intervención efectuada en la localidad El Caimito, provincia Santiago Rodríguez, miembros del ERD interceptaron una jeepeta marca Kia, modelo Sorento, cuyo conductor emprendió la huida, dejando abandonado el vehículo. En su interior fueron encontrados diez ciudadanos haitianos, todos masculinos, sin documentación legal.
Posteriormente, en el sector El Basurero, municipio Mao, provincia Valverde, las autoridades militares interceptaron otros dos vehículos: un Kia modelo K5, en el que se transportaban cinco indocumentados, y un Honda modelo CR-V, en el cual viajaban trece personas en condición migratoria irregular.
En total, durante ambos operativos fueron detenidos veintiocho nacionales haitianos, distribuidos en veintidós hombres, cinco mujeres y un menor de edad.
Los extranjeros detenidos y los vehículos ocupados fueron trasladados a la sede de la 4ta. Brigada de Infantería del ERD para los procedimientos legales correspondientes, en coordinación con la Dirección General de Migración (DGM).
