SANTO DOMINGO.– La Fuerza del Pueblo (FP) escogió por consenso los bufetes directivos de sus bloques legislativos para el período 2026-2027.
El partido opositor designó a Santiago José David Báez Reinoso nuevo vocero en la Cámara de Diputados y ratificó al legislador por La Romana, Eduardo Espiritusanto, en esa posición en el Senado.
La decisión fue adoptada durante una reunión celebrada en la Casa del Pueblo Johnny Ventura, donde Rafael Alburquerque, miembro de la Dirección Política y exvicepresidente de la República, tomó juramento a los integrantes de los nuevos bufetes.
Junto a Báez Reinoso fueron escogidos Mélido Mercedes Castillo, diputado por San Juan, como vicevocero, y Rafaela González González, representante de Santo Domingo, como secretaria.
Báez Reinoso, educador, comunicador y dirigente político y comunitario, representa la Circunscripción 1 de Santiago. Es miembro fundador de la FP, integrante de su Dirección Central y presidente de la organización en Santiago Oeste.
SENADO MANTIENE SU DIRECCIÓN
En el Senado, la organización decidió mantener el actual bufete, encabezado por Eduardo Espiritusanto como vocero, Félix Bautista, senador por San Juan, como vicevocero, y Omar Fernández, representante del Distrito Nacional, como secretario.
La decisión fue comunicada al presidente de la FP, Leonel Fernández, mediante una comunicación leída por Omar Fernández.
El secretario de Asuntos Legislativos, Franklin Rodríguez, destacó el ambiente de unidad y consenso durante el proceso y reconoció la labor de los equipos salientes.
Tras su juramentación, Báez Reinoso agradeció la confianza de sus compañeros y afirmó que trabajará para fortalecer el bloque legislativo y convertirlo en una “maquinaria combatiente” desde el Congreso, con miras a las elecciones de 2028.
Espiritusanto, por su parte, agradeció su ratificación y aseguró que mantendrá una oposición firme frente al partido oficialista, con el propósito de contribuir al retorno de la FP al Palacio Nacional en 2028.
