SANTO DOMINGO. – Las doce principales organizaciones que integran el bloque G-12, representativas del transporte urbano, interurbano y turístico de la República Dominicana, reafirmaron este lunes su compromiso de mantener congeladas las tarifas del transporte público en todo el territorio nacional, como respaldo a las recientes reducciones en los precios de los combustibles dispuestas por el Gobierno.
Los dirigentes del sector aseguraron que no habrá incrementos en los pasajes mientras continúen las conversaciones con las autoridades y se desarrollen las evaluaciones técnicas de los acuerdos vigentes.
El vocero del bloque y presidente de MOCHOTRAN, Alfredo Pulinario Mariot (Tito Cambita), exhortó a todos los choferes, operadores y afiliados a respetar la decisión y abstenerse de aplicar aumentos en cualquiera de las rutas que operan las organizaciones que conforman el G-12.
«Nuestro compromiso es con el pueblo dominicano. Mientras continúen las conversaciones con las autoridades y se mantengan estas medidas de alivio en los combustibles, las tarifas no sufrirán variación alguna», expresó Pulinario Mariot durante un encuentro con representantes de la prensa.
Los transportistas señalaron que las rebajas en los precios de los carburantes permiten aliviar los costos operativos del sector, facilitando la absorción de las fluctuaciones del mercado sin transferir mayores cargas económicas a los millones de usuarios del servicio de transporte público.
Asimismo, el G-12 reiteró su disposición de mantener un diálogo permanente y constructivo con el Gobierno, con el objetivo de garantizar la sostenibilidad del sistema de transporte, proteger a los usuarios y contribuir a la estabilidad económica y la paz social.
Entre las organizaciones representadas en el encuentro figuran CODOTATUR, FEDETRABO, Caribe Tours, Unión de Propietarios, MOCHOTRAN, CNTU, UNET, FENATRAPEGO, UNATRAFIN, FENTRAUNI, Transporte del Este, FENATRANSC, FENAMOTO y FENTRARENO. También participaron sus principales dirigentes, entre ellos Santiago Zamora, Paul Guerrero, Freddy Méndez, Williams Pérez Figuereo, Reinaldo Pérez Sánchez (Moreno), Eddy Sánchez, Arsenio Quevedo, Kelvin Sánchez, Manolo Ramírez (Pupilo), Mario Díaz, Óscar Almanzar y Gervasio de la Rosa.
